Everyone knows it is important to eat a healthy and balanced diet.  Although not everyone leads a healthy lifestyle, within recent years, it has become a trend to eat healthy.  The food industry, especially in NYC, has caught onto this trend and many health-centered restaurants have emerged.  These instagrammable, contemporary, and fresh spots are great places to satisfy your healthy food cravings.

With the new health trends, there has been a rise of vegan eaters. By Chloe is unique as their diverse menu is 100% vegan.  This fast-casual spot is known for their hearty salads, sandwiches, and burgers. Their food is so flavorful and enjoyable. One of my favorites from by Chloe is their avocado pesto pasta salad.  This dish was absolutely amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who goes to this spot. Also, if you are looking for a sweets fix, their sweets are gluten free and dairy free, but they taste just as delicious!  Although it is vegan, by Chloe has something for everyone and I have faith that it will not disappoint you.

Westville

Westville is a popular NYC restaurant with fresh produce and locally sourced meats that taste unbelievable.  There are six locations around NYC that are all equally as delicious. This place is casual with a healthful vibe.  You must try their market plate which allows you to select four fresh and flavorful vegetables. I had the artichoke, zucchini, mashed potatoes, and brussel sprouts which were all exquisite.  At Westville, the food genuinely tastes natural. Their dishes are not greasy or overbearing and you leave feeling great.

Sweetgreen

If you live in NYC, you have definitely passed a Sweetgreen.  This salad bar-style food place has numerous locations throughout the US and has become insanely popular.  During lunch hours, lines are out the door to grab a salad. However, the sweetgreen app allows you to order and pay online for a quick pick-up. I have done this countless times and it is an extremely easy way of ordering.  At Sweetgreen, the food is fresh, tasty, and nutritious. The locations are clean and the employees are always extremely kind! If you are looking for a quick and easy way to eat a healthy meal, definitely try Sweetgreen.

Two Hands

Two hands is a cafe-style spot with simple, delicious, and nutritious food paired with outstanding coffee.  The dishes here are light and flavorful. They offer a wide selection from acai bowls to cauliflower couscous.  The food is simple, fresh, and good quality. Both locations, in Tribeca and Nolita, are cozy and appealing with their string lights and quaint plants.  This is a great place to stop and just grab a quick cup of coffee, or sit and leisurely eat brunch with friends. I definitely recommend trying Two Hands in the near future!

Beyond Sushi

Beyond Sushi is unlike any other sushi restaurant in NYC as it is the only one that is vegan and vegetarian.  It is the “pioneer of a plant-based sushi movement.” This 100% vegan eatery uses locally sourced, seasonal produce to create fresh and natural dishes.  They promise to “refresh and nourish your bodies while creating a new standard of clean eating.” In my experience, they hold true to their promise as I always leave feeling refreshed, satisfied, and healthful.  Even if you are an avid fish-sushi eater, give Beyond Sushi a try. As a regular sushi eater myself, Beyond Sushi opened my eyes to plant-based sushi, and it did not disappoint.
